Cranberry, Chocolate Croissant French Toast Casserole

- butter, for greasing pie plate: ½ tablespoon
- store-bought croissants: 4
- cranberry sauce: ¾ cup
- chocolate chips: ½ cup
- eggs: 4
- milk: ¾ cup
- vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons
- sugar: 2 tablespoons
- cinnamon: ½ teaspoon
Step 1: Preheat oven to80C. Place rack into the center of the oven. Grease a 9-inch deep dish pie plate with butter.
Step 2: Slice each of the croissants in half horizontally.
Step 3: Spread cranberry sauce onto the bottom halves of each of the croissants and top evenly with chocolate chips. Cover with the remaining croissant halves and place croissants into the prepared pie plate overlapping in a circular pattern.
Step 4: In a large bowl whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon.
Step 5: Pour mixture over the croissants and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the egg mixture is cooked through and the croissants are golden.
