I love edible gifts. I like to get them, and I like to give them. It’s the one gift that hardly ever elicits stink-eye. As long as you can send a tried-and-true crowd pleaser, you’ll be a gift-giving genius. I’ve sent cookies in the past, but this year I’m making, wrapping, and giving cookie dough. Yup, the dough. I know it seems like an unfinished gift, but you’re really giving your loved ones the gift of time. Instead of sending a perishable treat that they have to either plow through or throw away after a few days, I’m sending dough that they can freeze and eat at their own pace.
I’m wrapping my favourite mixed berry white chocolate cookie dough in a pretty, printable paper and handing the results out Oprah-style. “And you get dough! And you get dough! EVERYONE’S GETTING DOUGH! LOOK UNDER YOUR OFFICE CHAIR, THERE’S SOME DOUGH!” Trust me, people will lose their minds with delight.

Mixed Berry White Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Instead of sending a perishable treat, send the gift of cookies that they can eat at their own pace.
- unsalted: ¾ cup (bring to room temperature)
- packed light brown sugar: ¾ cup
- granulated sugar: ¼ cup
- egg: 1 large (bring to room temperature)
- vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons
- all-purpose flour: 2 cups
- cornstarch: 2 teaspoons
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 3/4 cup white chocolate
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup dried blueberries
Step 1: In a large bowl, beat butter for 1 minute using a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment until it reaches a creamy consistency. Add the brown and granulated sugars, and continue to mix on medium speed until light coloured and fluffy. Continue to mix as you add in vanilla and egg.
Step 2: In a different bowl, whisk flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking soda together. Slowly pour into the wet ingredients. Once it's combined, add white chocolate chips and dried fruit to the thick dough. Mix chips and fruit into the dough until they are evenly distributed.
Step 3: Divide dough in half, and roll into two 8" long logs. Wrap each log of dough in Glad ClingWrap, and fold over to cover ends. This will lock out air to keep the dough fresh. Add a handful of confetti to a piece of parchment paper, and wrap it around the dough. Fold over the ends (tape if necessary) to contain the confetti.
Step 4: Print my Mixed Berry White Chocolate Cookie Dough Wrapper and wrap it around the dough. Using transparent tape, seal the wrapper.
Step 5: Instruct recipients to refrigerate the dough for 2 hours, and allow to thaw at room temperature for 10 minutes. This will make the dough less sticky and easier to cut or roll before baking. When they're ready to nibble on some fresh, delicious cookies, recipients should bake at80 degrees for 8–12 minutes.
