Decorate this season’s backyard barbie using paper plates! This oh-so-simple and inexpensive tutorial will show you how to turn paper plates into handy bowls. It’s a great way for the kids to get in on the decorating action. These bowls are also great for filing with homemade treats to give as holiday gifts.
- Thin cheap paper plates (large and small)
- Watercolour paints
- Washi tape
- Paper clips or clothes pegs
Step 1: Use your ruler and pencil to draw a tic tac toe board on the bottom side of the paper plate.
Step 2: Paint festive designs using watercolors. Let dry.
Step 3: Hold the paper plate in front of you. Cut the bottom left vertical line. Turn the plate ninety degrees. Repeat this process three more times. Then fold the paper plate where all of the lines are.
Step 4: Use your paper clip or pegs to hold the bowls in place. Make sure you have the small flap on the inside of the bowl.
Step 5: Wrap washi tape around the bowl to secure. Then fill with your favourite summer fruit or other homemade goodies.
