This stashes or lashes gender reveal baby shower is sweet and salty—perfect for all the mama-to-be’s cravings.
I waited the long, ankle-swelling and miraculous 9 months to hear my husband and doctor shout out the gender in the delivery room, but had I found out early, I would have wanted a party like this…and I would have been the first in line at the salty and crunchy station. I could not eat enough potato chips during my pregnancies!
If you’re planning a gender reveal shower, this “Lashes or ‘Staches” themed fete is the perfect mix of feminine and masculine.
Girl or boy? No one knows.
Cut the cake to see if pink or blue shows!
This family was in a for a sweet surprise,
For they saw blue right before their eyes!
For all you expecting mums, take note of all the gold sparkle. I always love a party sprinkled with glitter. And, for all you baby shower planners like me, the pink and blue details will have you giddy with baby excitement.
Sylvia, owner of Special Events in South Africa, hosted a gender reveal party for her photographer friend, Linda Fourie, and her husband Stoffel. “They are very extrovert people, and love their friends and family,” she said. “So I can’t think of a better way for them to discover if it was a boy or a girl.”
Syliva shares her favourite part of the navy and light pink shower with us.
“Sylvia and Stoffel’s doctor gave the couple an envelope with the gender, which they passed on to me without looking,” she said. “I gave it to our cake supplier and she baked the cake, so only she knew the gender.”
“We had so much fun because both of them thought it will be a boy, but expected that the cake would be either pink or blue,” she continued. “They didn’t know the colour of the sweets inside is what it is all about. So, when Stoffel cut the cake and it was white, he was shocked. Then someone shouted that they saw a pink crumb…so he started to cut more, and finally saw the blue sweets hidden inside.”
Luckily they had a very talented photographer, Lizelle Lotter, to capture the action, and everyone’s expressions!
