These Chocolate-Dipped Candy Canes Are Holiday Party Gold
I love this time of year, but I don’t always have time to bake a festive dessert. My solution: these chocolate-dipped candy canes. They’re bright, festive, super tasty, and my kids can help make them (a win-win when I’m super busy). I melt the chocolate, set out all of the ingredients, and they get to work. I let them choose the sprinkles so they can create their own designs.
These sweets also make a simple yet still lovely Christmas gift for teachers and friends; wrap them individually in clear cellophane and tie with a bow!

Prep Time:
Servings: 24
Ingredients:
white chocolate chips: 1 cup
semisweet chocolate chips: 1 cup
5-inch candy canes: 2 dozen
variety of sprinkles: about 1 tablespoon
Directions:
Step 1: Line the bottom of a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Step 2: In a microwave, melt the white chocolate and dark chocolate in two separate, deep, small containers. (A Pyrex measuring beaker is perfect.) Melt it in 30-second increments; it shouldn't take longer than a minute or so.
Step 3: Once the chocolate is melted, dip the round end of the candy cane into it, moving it around to coat at least a couple inches of the stick.Step 4: Gently lift the candy cane out of the chocolate and let any excess drip off. Place the dipped candy canes on the parchment-lined baking sheet as you go. Step 5: While they're still wet, sprinkle them lightly with sprinkles. Step 6: Let them set at room temperature. (If you need to speed it up you can place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.)
