I love a sweet cup of Chai Tea. It's warming, comforting, and delicious! I created this non-tea version for my kids and it has been a lovely treat during this rainy winter season!
A traditional Chai is typically a combination of black tea with five or more Indian spices added. (My favourite Chai spice blend is equal parts of cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and black pepper.)
Ingredients:
Serves 1
Total Prep and Cooking Time: less than 5 minutes
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of ground cloves
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
Preparation:
Combine the spices with the sugar in a small sauce pan. Whisk in about 1/4 cup of the milk and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and add the remaining milk. Let it simmer for about 1 minute.
Some additional notes:
If you want, you can pour the Hot Spiced Milk through a tiny strainer for a smoother drink.
