Busy Mum’s Green Smoothie Recipe

  • I am not a juicing fanatic, but I do appreciate a healthy green smoothie now and then. I often drink it in the morning after I've been to the gym and am ready to start my day off on a healthy note. Since a smoothie takes about two seconds to drink, I don't believe it should take that long to make. Over time I've come up with this recipe; it takes just a few seconds to throw in the blender and tastes great. It is naturally sweetened by the addition of pear. There are no added sugars or artificial flavors, which is just how I like to take my breakfast. It is straight up goodness in every sip.

    Simple Green Smoothie

    Chop & blend your way to a delicious, healthy breakfast in a glass.

    Prep Time:
    Servings: 1-2


    • baby spinach: 1 cup, stems removed
    • pear: 1 small, peeled and cored
    • water: 1 cup
    • lemon juice: 2 tablespoons
    • ice cubes: ½ cup


    Step 1: Place all of the ingredients in a blender and close with the lid and blend well.

    Tip: For a creamier texture try adding half of a banana. I did not for this particular smoothie but have done so in the past, and it tastes great.
